CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor Service Issue
Researchers at Swiss security firm Modzero discovered an issue related to CrowdStrike's Falcon endpoint detection and response.
The issue is related to inactive sensors on devices, which can result in users paying for inactive sensors.
The troubleshooting steps for this issue are as follows:
- Ensure the correct CrowdStrike URLs and IP addresses have been allowed in your firewall.
- Verify that your host's LMHost service is enabled.
- If you are using CrowdStrike Falcon for endpoint security, it is a good practice to regularly check for inactive sensors.
When running the installation, a dialogue box may appear that says "Service Crowdstrike Falcon Sensor Service CSFalconService could not be..." This error can be resolved by following the troubleshooting steps outlined above.
CrowdStrike has released a patch to address this issue. Users are advised to apply the patch as soon as possible.
