Windows Bluescreens Hit CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor Users
Patch to Roll Out Shortly
Falcon Sensor Tied to Blue Screen Errors and Lock-Up
Falcon Sensor is an agent that CrowdStrike claims blocks attacks on your systems while capturing and recording activity as it happens to detect threats fast. However, the issue linked to Crowdstrikes Falcon sensor has resulted in Windows machines experiencing blue screen errors and getting stuck in a recovery loop.
CrowdStrike acknowledges this issue and is working on a patch. However, in the meantime, you can resolve the issue by deleting the file C-00000291sys from the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory. You will need to boot into Safe Mode to complete this step.
To check the CrowdStrike Falcon sensor version installed on your system, open the Control Panel and navigate to Programs and Features. The Falcon Sensor version should be listed in the Name column.
CrowdStrike is confident that the patch will resolve the issue and is committed to providing its customers with the best possible protection against cyber threats.
